Even though many people are not expecting great things from the Maryland Terrapins in 2010, there are at least a trio of reasons to keep your eyes on the Terps this season.

The Maryland Terrapins ended the 2009 season at the bottom of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Atlantic Division.

The Maryland Terrapins had their season end in devastating fashion, losing in the round of 32 to the Michigan State Spartans on a 3-pointer at the buzzer to fall 85-83.
The final shot, made by the Spartans’ Korie Lucious, came after the Terps staged an improbable rally from 10 points down with four minutes remaining. Star guard Greivis Vasquez twice gave Maryland the lead with under 20 seconds left before Lucious’ heroics.
The rally overshadowed an otherwise inconsistent performance by Maryland, which found itself trailing by double digits for most of the game. In fact, by the under-8 media timeout in the second half, head coach Gary Williams had already exhausted all but one of his timeouts to stop the bleeding.
Still, Terps fans have to be appreciative of the comeback their team pulled off before ultimately falling short. The future of the team is uncertain now that Vasquez and four-year starting point guard Eric Hayes graduate, but they provided one final masterpiece for the faithful before saying goodbye.
